This 2020 vintage of Castelvecchi Chianti Classico Capotondo is crafted with 88% Sangiovese and 12% Canaiolo grapes growing in galestro and alberese soils with hints of boulder and sandstone. A cool spring followed by a warm Summer gave way to ideal phenolic maturation and optimal aromatic complexity. Grapes are hand-selected and macerated for 25-30 days, then aged in steel tanks until December before it moves on to third or fourth ride large barrels and barriques for 10-12 months, resulting in beautifully ripe tannins.
